Q. What positions are currently available?

Q. Can I just send the City my resume?
A: The City only accepts applications for positions that are posted and open for
recruitment. Resumes may be attached to the application but cannot be
submitted in lieu of an application.
Q. Where do I get an application?
A: You can complete an application on-line and either drop it off in
person or mail it to the Human Resources Department. You may also pick up an
employment application in the job opportunities area located at City Hall or
request a copy be sent to you by mail or e-mail by calling the job hotline
at (408) 846-0406.
Q. Where can I take a typing test?
A: Please refer to the City of Gilroy’s Typing Certificate Information Sheet.
Q. Can I submit an "on-line" typing certificate?
A: No. On-line typing certificates are not accepted by the City of Gilroy.

Q. Where can I apply for a work permit?
A: Generally, the school that you attend will issue work permits. If you
attend a school in Gilroy and the school is closed for break, you may also
contact the Gilroy Unified School District.
