Master Plans

Each capital improvement project undertaken by the City of Gilroy is the result of a master plan prepared in conjunction with data from the General Plan and other policy or forecast documents. The Engineering Division of the Community Development Department uses the master plan reports as a tool in developing the City's capital improvement budget and to identify the timing and/or type of improvement to be made. Improvements identified in master plans range from the need for a new neighborhood park site, an additional new fire station, to improvements in traffic circulation, or augmentation to the City's existing sewer, storm drain or water system.

The City has over a dozen different master plans. Some of these cover parks, library, sewer, water, storm drain, civic center, traffic, fire and police. Master plans for the City's various capital improvement funds are routinely scheduled for updating approximately every five years.

The Master Plans are in PDF format and can be access by clicking on the link(s) for that Master Plan. Some of the downloads are very large and should only be accessed with a high speed connection.
