Alexander Station Rumors Unfounded
Rumors surrounding Alexander Station apartments being filled with residents from Oakland are unfounded at this time. City staff has confirmed that property managers for Alexander Station have not engaged in marketing efforts to specific geographic communities. Phase 1 of Alexander Stations is estimated to be complete and opened by the end of the year and property managers are currently forming a wait list of interested renters.
Three additional affordable housing projects are currently in process of planning and construction as well. The first two projects are part of the Harvest Park project and will consist of 98 affordable apartments split between two sites, with 32 apartments at the northwest corner of Cohansey Avenue and Wren Avenue and 66 apartments at the northwest corner of Cohansey Avenue and Monterey Road. These two projects have been issued building permits and are in the beginning stages of construction. The third project, The Cannery, is a 104-unit, four-story apartment building located at 111 Lewis Street within the Downtown Cannery District. A building permit has been issued for this project.
Rent and income limits for all four of these affordable housing projects are regulated by the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (CTAC).
