This year, Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) became the official electricity supplier for residents and businesses in Gilroy. SVCE also supplies electricity to the communities of Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno. Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and unincorporated Santa Clara County. SVCE was formed by the communities it serves and is governed by a board of directors comprised of one elected representative from each of the participating jurisdictions.
PG&E continues to distribute electricity through their existing infrastructure, performance maintenance, billing and customer service. As you get your first PG&E Energy Statements with SVCE charges listed, it's important to keep several things in mind. First, SVCE charges replace those from PG&E, so it is not a duplicate charge. Second, SVCE charges for electric generation only, PG&E charges will still apply for transmission, delivery, gas and other fees.
