Council Meeting Recap for 5/15/17
Upper Welburn Traffic Calming Study Report
The Welburn traffic calming report was presented to the City Council during a council study session and again as an agendized item during the regular council meeting. After public comment and City Council discussion the Council took action on the following:
1.Have the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) review Upper Welburn as a potential local street as part of the General Plan 2040 process.
2.Remove the partial the partial intersection closure at Welburn and Mantelli.
3.Revise striping on Upper Welburn so that the currently striped shoulder area be removed while maintaining the narrow travel lanes and on street parking. And direct staff, where appropriate and prudent, to consider and implement the complete streets program.
4.Direct staff to prepare a resolution to install four- way stop controls at the intersection of Welburn Avenue and Taryn Lane. This item will come back to council for a vote at a future date.
Approval of the public service and housing rehabilitation funding distribution of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) grants to various nonprofit agencies.
Staff presented the recommendation of distribution of funds made by the Community and Neighborhood Revitalization Committee and Council approved the recommendation.

The next Council Meeting will be a special budget study session on Monday, May 30th and the next Regular Council Meeting will be on Monday, June 5th.
