Safety Reminders:
The bike and walking trails behind Solarsano Middle School are closed. Please do not let your child walk or ride to school using these paths.

Fire Update:
3,849 Acres :: 22% Contained :: 1,762 Personnel :: 140 Engines :: 15 Helicopters :: 6 Air Tankers :: 60 Hand Crews :: 32 Dozers

About 2,000 firefighters from throughout the area are aggressively fighting the Loma Fire which continues to spread in the Loma Chiquita Road and Loma Prieta Road area of the Santa Cruz mountains. Overnight, the fire remained active in the brush and timber litter, which allowed the fire to make short runs and smolder throughout the night. The fire is currently burning in the Mt. Loma Prieta, Mt. Chual and Uvas Creek drainages. As of 7:00 a.m., the fire had spread to over 3,849 acres with 22% containment.

A community meeting will be held tonight, 9/29 at 7:00PM at Loma Prieta Elementary School, located at 23800 Summit Road, Los Gatos.

Current local park and road closures:
Both sides of Christmas Hill Park are now CLOSED to the public.
The bike and walking trails behind Solarsano Middle School are also closed.
The paved levy trail, next to Uvas Park Drive is open.
Miller Avenue (between W Luchessa Ave and Uvas Dr) is closed to thru traffic.
We will continue to have heavy fire and equipment use on the following roads: Santa Teresa Blvd, Hecker Pass, Club Drive (behind Solarsano), Syrah Ct and Masten Ave. Please use caution in these areas.

IN-KIND GOODS DONATIONS:
At this time, Firefighters and Red Cross shelters have what they need. Please do not bring donations to Fire Stations, Christmas Hill Park or the Evacuation Center.

Only One Evacuation Center is Still Open:
Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church, 16970 De Witt Avenue, Morgan Hill
