The Gilroy Senior Center harbors a wealth of laughter, fun, companionship and conversation. Meet folks from all over the community. Some of the best moments are those shared over a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch. The Senior Center is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy the company of others.

The Gilroy Senior Center has a monthly newsletter providing current information about trips, programs, activities, club meetings, Senior of the Month, the menu for the Nutrition Program and much more! Come by and pick one up.

  • Casino Trips: Please refer to the monthly Senior Center Newsletter for upcoming casino trips. Cost is $35 per person and bonuses vary per casino trip.
Senior Center Programs (Ages 55+) 
  • Beginning Western Line Dance Class: Come by, listen to great music and learn dance steps while having fun. Fridays, 12:30-1:30 PM. FREE.
  • Senior Chair Yoga Class: Chair Yoga is a wonderful way to practice Yoga. The chair is used as a prop to allow your body to be comfortable in Yoga practice. Instructor is Julie Franco. Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 AM. FREE.
  • Active Adult Craft Class: Make a variety of crafts - everything from holiday crafts throughout the year, to painting and sewing by hand. Instructor is Lupe Zamarron. Tuesdays, 9:30-11:00 AM. FREE.
  • Senior Tai Chi Class: This class will introduce you to an ancient Chinese exercise that promotes physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Learn how to move you body slowly, continuously and gracefully through the 24 positions, improve your balance, flexibility, breathing and prevention of injuries. Instructor is Barry Ma. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00-9:45 AM. FREE.
  • Senior Zumba Class: Enjoy exercise and dance to Zumba's energizing Latin Music. Please wear comfortable clothing to class. Instructor is Nancy Headley. Thursdays, 12:30-1:30pm. FREE.
  • Billiards (Pool): Enjoy a game of pool in our recreation room. Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. FREE.
  • Guitar Lessons: Offered on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00pm in the Senior Center Meeting Room. Instructor is Gorden Gibson. Cost is free!
  • Bingo: Cards are sold in sets of four (4) for 20 cents or six (6) for 25 cents. Wednesdays, 12:30-2:45 PM.
  • Loteria (Mexican Bingo): Cards are sold for 10 cents. Thursdays, 10:00-11:30 AM.
  • Bridge: Times and days are set by the Bridge Club. Call (408) 846-0414 for further information.
  • Pedro: Held in the Main Dining Hall. Tuesdays, 12:30-3:00 PM.
  • Senior Choir: Held in the Main Dining Hall. Tuesdays, 1:30-3:00 PM.
  • Fitness & Nutrition: Provided by the YMCA. Instructor is Blanca Ponce. Mondays and Fridays, 10:30-11:30 AM.
  • Lunchtime Nutrition Program: Mt. Madonna YMCA is the Senior Center Nutrition Provider, which is funded by Santa Clara County. Lunch is served Monday - Friday at 11:30 AM. Suggested donation is $3 for anyone 60 and over; if you are under 60 it is $8. The nutrition site coordinator and cooks are Martha Lizzara and Alma Ramos.
