Gilroy's COVID 19 Eviction Moratorium applies to residential and small business rentals. The moratorium protects tenants from evictions for nonpayment of rent with substantiated hardships associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. This is not a waiver of rent payments due to your landlord. The moratorium goes into effect on May 6, 2020.
Gilroy provides funds to Project Sentinel inform local landlords and tenants of their rights and responsibilities. Project Sentinel also provides information on fair housing (nondiscrimination in access to housing) and mediation services in the case of housing-related disputes.
